Addiction Recovery Care (ARC), a leading provider of addiction treatment programs throughout Kentucky, is expanding its team with a new Court Communications Specialist. Tabatha Gray-Powell brings more than two decades of working with Kentucky’s criminal justice system.
Gray-Powell recently retired from Kentucky State Government, where she had a long career in service provision to some of the most vulnerable populations in Kentucky. She began her career working in adult and child protection services at the Department of Protection & Permanency, where she worked as a social service clinician. Eventually, she was promoted to a supervisory position. Most recently, she was a program administrator for Addiction Services of Kentucky, where she managed a team of clinicians and oversaw a substance abuse program that served more than 100 incarcerated men at Little Sandy Correctional Complex.
In her new role with ARC, Gray-Powell will serve as its subject matter expert on timely and accurate communications with the various Kentucky, Ohio, and Virginia court systems. Gray-Powell will meet with court leaders to ensure accurate and appropriate information is being provided to them when a client graduates or leaves the program.
“The opportunity to join ARC is a blessing and one that I could not pass up,” said Gray-Powell. “With my diverse professional experience, I understand the urgency of the addiction crisis and the impact active communication with the courts can have on someone’s journey to recovery.”
Gray-Powell received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminology as well as a minor in Social Work from Morehead State University. She is currently licensed as a temporary chemical and alcohol dependency counselor.
