Welding

The welding program is based out of Louisa, Ky. Clients who complete the program through the Millard College will earn 16 college credit hours and upon completion receive their Work Ready Certificate.

The program teaches students everything from basic to advanced welding skills, basic fabrication, and workplace soft skills.

There are several opportunities that have been established for potential employment. Any student that completes the program will have employment opportunities with Material Handling Systems out of Louisville. Those tasks will be welding, assembly line, and fabrication. ARC has secured an agreement with the Indiana Kentucky Ohio Regional Council of Carpenters (IKORCC) to provide a career path in Welding throughout their multi-state network. IKORCC has agreed to remove a year of apprenticeship requirement and give interview priorities to our students who successfully complete the program. Typically apprenticeships will have to complete 4 levels of progression to reach full pay scale. Our agreement allows successful applicants to start at a higher pay scale tier.

“The welding program made some big changes in my life. It helped me be part of the solution to the rehabilitation of these people. I’m able to help teach them a skill and help them get a job. It makes me proud to know I can help them. It’s not just something they do as a job. It’s a career.”
