Matt Brown serves as President of ARC Healthcare. He helps oversee the 700+ employee organization and manages the day-to-day management of the organization.
Matt oversees finance, human resources, marketing and communications, business development, strategic initiatives, public relations, facility maintenance, IT, and safety. He has been involved in the development of ARC’s program expansion since May 2015, during which ARC opened well over 20 programs.
Matt has a deep and personal understanding of addiction and the recovery process. Matt began his recovery journey in May 2014 after an 18-year battle with addiction. Like many of ARC’s employees and management, he personally received long-term care from the company. During his time as a client at ARC, he completed an internship with the company. This opportunity convinced him to leave the practice of physical therapy and to pursue a career in addiction treatment with ARC.
Matt holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Kentucky in Health Sciences and a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from UK. Before coming to ARC, Matt had a 12-year career practicing in the field of physical therapy. Matt and his wife Summer live in Louisa, KY.
Kayla Parsons is the Senior Vice President of Business Administration at ARC. In her current position, Kayla leads the Administration Business Office (HR and Finance departments), along with working on a variety of projects for the Administration Division, including marketing, strategic communications, business development, and organizational strategy.
Kayla originally came to ARC as a client in 2016 after a ten-year battle with addiction. After taking advantage of ARC’s vocational training opportunities, she has worked her way from residential staff to her current position.
Kayla is currently pursuing her Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of the Cumberlands. She received ARC’s Female Rookie of the Year for 2018 and Corporate All-Star in 2019. Kayla, her husband Jason, and their three children live in Louisa, KY.
Scott Robinson is the Senior Vice President of Business Development where he manages new startups, expansions, and project management..
Previously, Scott worked for American Electric Power corporately as the Software Implementation Project Manager over multi-state sites. Later he settled into a multi-faceted role of Information Technology Director, Accounting Associate, and Plant Operator for Kentucky Power’s Big Sandy Plant.
Scott has played a vital role in the start-up of Addiction Recovery Care. He implemented the first outpatient center in 2012 and helped navigate the organization to become one of the first licensed Behavioral Health Organization entities in the state. Scott’s most valued accomplishment is that he is married with three beautiful children and is a Youth Pastor in the community he resides.
Kristina Arnette, serves as Senior Vice President of Finance for Addiction Recovery Care (ARC). Kristina has over 25 years of experience working in the accounting and finance and 15 years in health care.
Arnette leads ARC’s finance and accounting departments and serves as a strategic financial partner to the leadership team.
Prior to ARC, Arnette served as Senior Vice President of Finance and Development for Confluent Health, a Louisville-based health care company with physical therapy and occupational therapy partners in 29 states.
Arnette hold a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Campbell University and a Masters in Business Administration from University of Redlands.
Travis Bailey is the Vice President of Business Affairs. Over a career spanning nearly 15 years, Travis has held positions as a CFO in the home health care field and COO of a financial services firm. Most recently he worked as a Financial Analyst for Ascension Recovery Services in Morgantown, a national addiction consulting firm.
As CFO of a multi-state home health care company, he helped to build a sustainable business model and worked to establish private funding to grow the business. Travis has worked in the addiction space building seed companies in the outpatient and residential settings in many different states.
A native of West Virginia, Travis lives in the Mountaineer State with his wife Erika and their three kids. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Charleston and an undergrad Business Marketing degree from West Virginia State University.
Vanessa Keeton is the Vice President of Marketing for Addiction Recovery Care.
As a person of long-term recovery, she works hard to give back to the community that she once took so much from. She is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University’s bachelor’s in psychology program and uses the knowledge gained through her education to help walk others through the difficulties in life.
She is married to her husband James, also in recovery, and together they have a son, Jacob. Vanessa has a zest for life that can be seen easily by the others around her. She believes that everyone struggling with addiction, with the proper support, can truly live the abundant life that they were intended to live.
Wayne Sartin joined Addiction Recovery Care Centers in early 2019 as a lifelong champion of underserved populations with a career in health services spanning twenty-five plus years. Mr. Sartin serves as the VP of Client Access for ARC. In his directorship capacity, Wayne oversees the following departments and programs: client intake, community outreach, and transportation. As a veteran of launching new initiatives, Mr. Sartin strives to meet the needs of referral sources while leading and influencing a positive peer culture with grace and tact. Lead by his belief that empathy and compassion are always best practices, Mr. Sartin works relentlessly to bring hope and healing to those people who are marginalized victims of the addiction crisis in our communities.
Wayne discovered his calling to a life of human service as an eighteen-year-old college student while providing 24-hour care for children with multiple physical and developmental challenges in the adaptive recreational setting. After his calling to serve others, sparked while working at Easter Seal Camp KYSOC, Wayne decided to study health sciences. He graduated from Spencerian College in 1998 with a degree in Applied Health Sciences. During his years as a healthcare administrator and marketing expert in the skilled rehab sector, Mr. Sartin has enjoyed many facets of career success through cross-training and promotion, however, those successes pale in comparison to the rewards of working on a team that excels in transforming lives from crisis to career. As a leader in his own church, Wayne understands the value of ARC’s faith-based recovery program and is eager to facilitate the very best outcomes for clients and communities.
Wayne lives in Louisville, KY with his wife, Angela. They share two college-aged children, Emma and Elijah. He also loves his church family, Dodgers baseball, and hisloyal four-legged pals, Dodger and Vinny.
Jason Merrick is ARC’s Vice President of Program Development. Merrick brings unmatched, frontline experience working with individuals in recovery and expanding access to treatment among one of Kentucky’s most vulnerable populations.
In his role with ARC, Merrick is expanding and promoting the organization’s outpatient services, while spearheading new growth and development in Northern Kentucky and Ohio.
Jason was most recently director of addiction services at the Kenton County Detention Center in Covington, Kentucky. Under his leadership, the Kenton County Detention Center developed, implemented and managed a highly innovative, 125-bed, licensed residential treatment program. This program has been critical in increasing access to treatment for individuals in and transitioning out of the criminal justice system and has served as a model for other states implementing similar programs.
Jason has also co-authored the 2013 report, “Northern Kentucky’s Collective Response To the Heroin Epidemic,” which offered a comprehensive approach to combating addiction in the region and increasing access to treatment.
Jason comes to ARC with extensive experience in the field of addiction and is considered a national leader on the subject. He will be a key part of the future development of outpatient services as well as ARC’s growth in the Northern Kentucky and Ohio region.
Arron Rhodes served as Senior Director of Human Resources at Addiction Recovery Care. Arron is a major addition to the organization and brings many years of leadership and experience within business and people operations, allowing ARC to bring the HR landscape to the best in class.
Arron joins ARC after serving a variety of roles within Accounting, Operations, and Human Resources in both local and globally based organizations. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources within his last organization.
Theresa LaFeve serves Addiction Recovery Care as the Director of Administration and helps to manage the day-to-day operation of the Office of Administration.
Like many, Theresa came to ARC through treatment in 2018 at Karens Place in Lawrence County, Kentucky, after a near 8-year bout with addiction.
Soon after completing the program, she joined ARC professionally, working directly with clients as a peer support specialist. During her 4-year tenure with ARC Theresa has continued to excel and accept new roles within our facilities and eventually at the corporate level where she remains today.
Brandi Murriell serves as the Senior Director of Outreach Relations at Addiction Recovery Care (ARC). Brandi leads the ARC Liaison Team, develops Local Advisory Councils, maintains relationships with Referral Sources, and looks for way ARC can give back to the communities we serve. Brandi represents ARC by speaking at events, sharing the ARC story while providing hope and encouragement by sharing the stories of client success and emphasizing the need to end the stigma of addiction.
Prior to coming to ARC, Brandi served in a management/leadership role for 18 years- specializing in Healthcare as the Director of Urgent Care Centers in West Virginia. While serving in this role, Brandi worked in and with the underrepresented population in a high-risk community. Brandi encountered overdoses, poverty, homelessness, and addiction while in this role. As addiction and overdose rates increased, Brandi felt an urgency to help in a bigger capacity which led her to ARC in 2017. Brandi has served many roles during her time with ARC including being the director of three women’s centers.
Brandi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Alice Lloyd College (2003) and a Master’s Degree in Business (MBA) from the University of Phoenix in (2006). Brandi lives in Louisa, KY with her husband Michael and they have a son, Max.
Tammy Barnette serves as the Senior Director of Intake at Addiction Recovery Care (ARC). Tammy’s primary role is supervising the daily operations of the intake department. This includes overseeing all phases of the admission process and placing clients in the appropriate phases of the program, effectively and efficiently.
With over 10 years of supervisor and management experience, Tammy has a background in working with adults with physical and intellectual disabilities in both residential and day training settings. Coming to ARC was a natural fit for Tammy, as she was very impressed with the life changing work that ARC was doing and wanted to be a part of it.
Deanna Muncy is the Vice President of Accounting for Addiction Recovery Care where she manages the company’s finances and plays an integral role in the company’s growth and development. Deanna has worked for Addiction Recovery Care for six years. Initially, Deanna started at ARC as the Human Resources Director. She helped build the foundation of the HR Department as well as bringing ARC into ACA Compliance. At the end of 2015, Deanna transitioned into the finance role. Since in that role she helped build the revenue cycle department, Medicaid billing, financial reporting, as well as transitioning ARC from cash accounting to accrual accounting.
Prior to Addiction Recovery Care, Deanna served as the Controller for Mountain Petroleum, the HR Director for the Mountain Petroleum/Zip Zone Group, and she was also the Franchise Director for the group. Deanna has 20 years of management and accounting experience. She began her career opening Bob Evan’s locations in eastern Kentucky.
After four years with Bob Evan’s, Deanna accepted a position with the Zip Zone/Mountain Petroleum group. Zip Zone is a c-store franchise with over 30 locations in eastern and central Kentucky. Mountain Petroleum is a jobber for Marathon Petroleum products. Deanna also worked to bring several franchises to the area including Papa John’s, KFC/Taco Bell, and Burger King.
Deanna is a graduate of Morehead State University with a BBA in Business Administration and BA in History.
Kyle Collier is the Senior Director of Communications and Website Development at Addiction Recovery Care. In his role, Kyle specializes in brand messaging, coordinating internal and external communication, assisting in recruitment strategy, leading ARC’s creative storytelling vision, and developing media strategies.
Kyle joined ARC in 2020 after spending nine years helping lead the news division at WYMT-TV. While at the local CBS affiliate in Hazard, Kentucky, Kyle led a team of dedicated journalists to tell compelling stories throughout Appalachia. He rose through the ranks as a producer to Assistant News-Director and led the station’s recruitment efforts his last three years. Kyle is an Emmy winner and has also been honored with numerous Associated Press Awards for his writing and storytelling.
While Kyle is not in recovery himself, he has witnessed numerous friends and families grapple with addiction. He left his career in TV to help change the narrative and stigma surrounding recovery.
Kyle holds a BS in Communications from the University of Pikeville. He lives in Hazard with his beautiful wife Vanessa and their three boys.
Gary Lafferty serves as the Director of Security for Addiction Recovery Care (ARC). His position includes assessing and consulting executive staff on security assessment and policy throughout the ARC network.
Prior to joining ARC, Gary has amassed a broad area of experience and training in the area of safety and security. Gary is a veteran of the US ARMY, where he served as a Military Police Officer serving in combat operations in the Republic of Panama, Iraq, and Kuwait. After being honorably discharged from the military, Gary was accepted and graduated from the Kentucky State Police Academy, where he held and performed several different positions. During the course of his 20-year career, he was a road Trooper, chaplain, Commander of KSP Employee Assistance Program, and post-level investigative supervisor. After retiring from the KSP, Gary worked as a Court Security Officer through the US Marshal Service, and a Safety Administrator with the Department of Community Based Services. Most recently, Gary worked with the Kentucky Office of School Security Marshal, where he was a compliance investigator ensuring that public schools were following state law and best practices in school safety and security.
He says that much of his law enforcement career was spent seeing only the “terrible” side of drug addiction and the collateral it brings. Now he’s glad to see on the other side to witness the thousand of lives changed daily through the wonderful work at ARC.
