Addiction Recovery Care Partners with Prodigal Ministries, Inc. to Provide Healthcare Services

Addiction Recovery Care (ARC), Kentucky’s leading treatment and recovery services provider, is proud to announce a new partnership with Prodigal Ministries, Inc., a non-profit based in Greater Louisville that provides support services to individuals transitioning out of the justice system. ARC will provide healthcare services to Prodigal clients as they begin a new, restorative chapter in their lives. These will include preventative care, psychiatric services, and pharmacy and lab services.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics, 58% of individuals in state prisons meet the criteria for drug dependence. Meanwhile, nearly all men and women served by Prodigal Ministries have struggled with substance use. ARC will deliver high-quality healthcare to ensure they can transition back into society and their families in the healthiest way possible, taking them one step closer to independent, work-ready lives.

“It is no secret men and women living in our county jails and state prisons face a difficult world when re-entering society. One thing they shouldn’t have to worry about is their basic healthcare needs being met,” said Pat Fogarty, Chief Operating Officer of ARC Healthcare. “Through ARC’s partnership with Prodigal Ministries, we will be able to serve one of our most vulnerable populations and better equip them to lead healthy, productive lives.”

Prodigal supports clients by providing transitional housing in Jefferson and Oldham counties. Each home is also a therapeutic living community where clients can find safety and peace to work with professionals, staff, and volunteers to change the trajectory of their lives.

“Prodigal Ministries is very excited about our relationship with ARC,” said Scott Bartelt, Executive Director of Prodigal Ministries/Prodigal Counseling Services. “Through this partnership, we are now able to offer our clients a complete continuum of care for their health and wellness needs.”
