The Kentucky Opioid Response Effort (KORE) is the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s grant funded response to the opioid epidemic. One of the programs funded by the grant is an addiction treatment stipend for individuals that are uninsured.
Kentucky residents earning less than 150 percent of the federal poverty level annually, which is approximately $18,000, and are seeking residential treatment for an opioid use disorder qualify to have the cost of 30 days of residential treatment covered by KORE funds.
Additionally, KORE will pay room and board for individuals continuing with intensive outpatient treatment for opioid use disorder with a provider that offers that treatment in a residential environment. Those room and board charges are covered by KORE for an additional 30 days.
In order to qualify, a person seeking treatment must apply through a qualified provider. Qualified providers are Kentucky-licensed Alcohol and Other Drug Entity (AODE) and Behavioral Health Services Organizations (BHSO).
