Addiction Recovery Care Medical Director, Dr. Michael FletcherWe’re excited to share that Addiction Recovery Care’s medical director, Dr. Michael Fletcher, was recently appointed to the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure. The Board is composed of 15 members, 11 of whom are appointed by the Governor.

“I feel honored Governor Bevin appointed me and look forward to serving Kentucky in this new capacity,” says Dr. Fletcher, who also serves as the president-elect of the Kentucky Society of Addiction Medicine.

He will serve a four-year term and bring to the table over 20 years of experience as a private practice physician. He is Board certified in Anesthesiology, Pain Management and Addiction Medicine.

Dr. Fletcher believes addiction treatment requires an integrated approach. Combining medication, counseling, and a faith-based setting, Dr. Fletcher’s care addresses the whole person—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

He is a channel of hope to individuals and families seeking help: “I really feel like this is not a hopeless situation for individuals, or for our city, or the nation. Care is available. Therapy does work. Power of prayer works as well.”

Dr. Fletcher received an MD from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. After completing an internship at The Florida Hospital in Orlando and a postgraduate Residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Miami's Jackson Memorial Hospital, he then finished a Fellowship in Pain Management at the University of Florida's Shands Hospital. Dr. Fletcher serves as a Lt. Colonel in the United States Air Force as a Flight Surgeon in the 123rd Airlift Wing of the KY Air National Guard.
